Bracknell Together Walk
Today our CEO Vickie, trustees and supporters took on the Bracknell Together walk along with many other local charities and organisations. We decided to go for it and take on the longest ‘Red route’ 10k walk together challenge.
We started off from the stunning grounds of South hill Park adorned with our ‘kaleidoscopic’ crystal face gems and ribbons in stunning weather with the sun just peeking through the clouds and a spring in our steps.
We walked, sang and at points danced or raced through the beautiful Swinley forest, across the terrain, up and down many hills and all with little legs in our party. The children enjoyed the scenery and weather with some budding photographers among them.
along the route which actually took us 11k due to a couple of wrong turns we were joined by some wild life, a robin, a common lizard and lots of ants. We were thankful for the support from the park rangers to find our course after a wrong turn and a short sweet stop to refuel for all.
We crossed the finish line with a smile and a cheer in incredible time (2 and a half hours) followed by chips, ice cream and coffee at the atrium. The sun fully shining on us as we proudly thanked all for taking part and soaked up the atmosphere and beautiful weather in the grounds.
Thank you to all the volunteers at the Easthampstead rotary club for putting on the walk and even a goody bag for all.We can’t wait to take part in the next one.
We are so proud of all those who joined us and would like to thank all that continue to support us in raising funds and awareness as survivors for survivors subjected to domestic abuse.
Ending #mentalhealthawarenessweek in the best way possible with movement, nature, challenge and accomplishment, showing that despite our experiences we can always achieve and have support no matter what, through good times and bad.
Please do support the efforts of those aged 3-60 that took part…teamwork makes the dreamwork, we had moments but pulled together to help and support each other.
