‘Survivors’ we believe to be those currently experiencing, or having experienced, domestic abuse in any form as you have to survive daily, in it or out of it.
Kaleidoscopic UK was founded by Vickie Robertson in January 2019 after her experience of childhood and adult domestic abuse. Experiencing first-hand the gaps in current support and services available, combined with a general lack of training or understanding of domestic abuse, Vickie was inspired to help others in similar situations to find the support they need by delivering a range of specialist services for all individuals in our community through Kaleidoscopic UK.
For more information on our Founder see ‘Vickie’s Story’.
We provide multiple monthly open-ended support groups throughout the survivor journey across the UK Sanctuary groups are uniquely survivor-led, free, without threshold (i.e. anyone who has suffered any form of abuse), independent, and confidential. They contain coffee, cake, crafts, a safe space and friendly faces with others in similar situations.
Our ‘Liberation From Abuse’ programme has been running since February, 2020. ‘Liberation’ is a 10 week course, exploring all areas of abuse, such as: physical, emotional, financial, sexual and coercive control. These survivor-led sessions focus on enhancing your knowledge, rights and voice.Providing useful tools in a safe space to empower and liberate along the unique journey to recovery all whilst breaking the cycle and exploring what works for you. Please use our referral forms to book your place on the next course.
Our ‘Fun with Mum’ sessions provide a safe space to re-engage with your children whilst having lots of fun. We know how domestic abuse can ‘suck’ the fun out of family life.
This group, like all others Kaleidoscopic groups, are FREE, independent and confidential.
These survivor-led 2 hour sessions provide activities for all ages with different types of fun, freedom, food and support. All families attending are in similar situations and the sessions will encompass peer-support to create a support network. Please use the relevant referral form to book a session.

We provide information and awareness at local and national events to further educate about the signs, symptoms and impacts of abuse We are committed to highlighting the importance of peer support, survivors voices and creating change by identifying gaps. All using trauma-informed approaches and useful tools for prevention and early intervention, as well as how to use best practices to effectively support victims/survivors and challenge myths.
Our services are available across England and Wales. We aim to expand to meet the need and are constantly adapting based on feedback and gaps identified. We aim to employ survivors to deliver our recovery, training, hope and unique survivor-led support.
We have been delivering different forms of wellbeing work alongside all we currently deliver to encompass self care and enhance healing and empowerment. These monthly sessions have proved vital for many.
Sound Healing is a powerful therapy that combines different healing sounds, music, and bowls to improve our well-being by creating a beautiful experience, where all layers of us (body, mind, soul, spirit) are supported to expel negative emotions and traumatic memories from our bodies and minds. This hour session led by a qualified practitioner in a safe space allows all to gain some rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.
Somatic healing is a transformative practice and body-centred approach that invites you into a deeper connection with your body, melding movement with mindfulness to unlock a profound sense of awareness and healing. Somatic explores the body’s innate wisdom, allowing you to release tension, restore balance, and move with greater ease and intention. prioritizing internal experience somatics empowers you to nurture your well-being from the inside out, embodying holistic health and mindful living.
Surviving to Thriving: Due to the issues for many survivors of abuse not being able to access specific and specialist therapy with long delays and costs we decided to change that for those needing it among our community. We fundraised to be able to provide longer than average amount of sessions per client. The12 sessions of trauma therapy for clients who feel they need it quoting life changing results. This has proved vital on many healing journeys which we are so grateful to aMAZing therapy centre for providing and continue to do so.
“Healing is as unique as the individual and we need to look at the holistic approach alongside recovery.”
Take a look at what we have planned in the coming weeks. We’d love to see you!
