OUR MISSION
OUR PATRONS
Kaleidoscopic UK supports children and adults who have been exposed to domestic abuse. We use “survivor” to include people who are currently experiencing abuse as well as people who have experienced it in the past — because surviving can be a daily experience, both during and after abuse.
The charity was founded by Vickie Robertson in January 2019 following her own experiences of childhood and adult domestic abuse. Having seen gaps in existing support, alongside a lack of training and understanding of domestic abuse, Vickie created Kaleidoscopic UK to help people find specialist, survivor-led support.
Our approach is independent, confidential, threshold-free and rooted in lived experience. We work with survivors, children, families, communities and professionals, while continually adapting our services around needs and gaps identified by the people we support.

How we help.
From peer support and education to wellbeing and specialist trauma therapy, our work follows the survivor journey rather than asking people to fit a threshold.
01 / SANCTUARY SUPPORT
Sanctuary Support
Free, independent, confidential and survivor-led groups available throughout the survivor journey. Groups are open-ended and welcoming, offering peer connection, practical support and a safe space.
02 / LIBERATION
Liberation
A ten-week survivor-led programme exploring physical, emotional, financial and sexual abuse, coercive control, rights, knowledge, voice and practical tools for recovery and breaking cycles.
03 / FUN WITH MUM
Fun with Mum
Free, confidential two-hour family sessions designed to rebuild positive experiences with children through activities, food, freedom, fun and peer support with families in similar situations.
04 / EDUCATION
Education
Bespoke education, training and prevention programmes for children and the people who support them. Content is survivor-informed, trauma-aware and informed by current research.
05 / VIGILANCE
Vigilance
Awareness at local and national events, helping people understand signs, symptoms and impacts of abuse, challenge myths, identify gaps and improve prevention, early intervention and support.
06 / UNITY
Unity
Services are available across England and Wales, with the organisation continuing to expand according to need. Kaleidoscopic aims to employ survivors to deliver recovery, training, hope and survivor-led support.

Sound Sessions
Guided sound-healing sessions use music, sound and bowls to create a safe space for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation, supporting emotional and physical wellbeing.

Somatic Sessions
A body-centred approach combining movement and mindfulness to reconnect with the body, release tension, restore balance and develop greater awareness.

Support
Provide survivor-led, threshold-free services for children and adults across the survivor journey, creating an open-ended network of support.

Improve understanding across voluntary and statutory services about all forms of domestic abuse and their impacts through the eyes of survivors.

We aim to create flexible employment opportunities for fellow survivors, combining empowerment and employment with further survivor-led support as the organisation grows.

Elizabeth Shaw
CREATOR OF UNDERSTANDING NARCISSISM · NEWEST PATRON
Elizabeth focuses on raising awareness of domestic abuse, narcissistic abuse, coercive control, emotional trauma and the longer-term effects on wellbeing and self-worth.
Through her platform she works to help survivors feel understood and less alone, while educating people about unhealthy dynamics, boundaries, healing and recovery. She supports Kaleidoscopic because she believes survivor-led organisations can break stigma, validate lived experience and create safer conversations.
Anouska Lancaster
AWARD-WINNING INTERIOR DESIGNER · ENTREPRENEUR
Anouska is an award-winning designer and entrepreneur whose career spans fine art, interiors, television, publishing and business. Her work is rooted in creativity and helping people express their identity through their homes.
She has also spoken openly about escaping a violent relationship in 2011 with her two young children, the years of post-separation abuse that followed, police protection and representing herself in court. She went on to build Noushka Design and use her experience to campaign for relationship education, women’s empowerment and domestic abuse awareness.
Her television work has included interior-design programming and Renovation Nation, while her design work has received national and international recognition. She became a Kaleidoscopic patron to bring hope to people living through abuse and to help unite prevention and support efforts.

Zoe Dronfield
CAMPAIGNER · AUTHOR
Zoe is a survivor and campaigner who works to improve support for victims and survivors of domestic abuse and stalking. Her book Mind over Manipulators draws on lived experience while examining failures within systems intended to protect people.
Her professional background spans public-sector, health, law-enforcement and local-government work, including technology, services and child protection. She uses that experience alongside campaigning to challenge system failures, improve justice processes and advocate for victims.
She has contributed to changes in legislation, serves on the Trust Board of Paladin National Stalking Advocacy Service and has worked with the Ministry of Justice on victim and witness engagement and court reform. She also works with local charities to help house people affected by abuse and homelessness.
Michelle Jordan
BBC RADIO PRESENTER · FIRST PATRON
Michelle is a radio presenter known for her warm, honest and energetic style. She has presented on BBC Radio Berkshire and BBC Radio Oxford and previously presented breakfast radio on Heart FM.
She has used her platform to discuss difficult subjects and raise awareness of domestic abuse. Her decision to become a patron was influenced by seeing close friends experience abuse and coercive control, and by the helplessness and frustration she felt when witnessing people she cared about being harmed.
Michelle believes some people have nowhere to turn and that Kaleidoscopic’s survivor-led work can be life-changing and life-saving. She uses her radio presence and social media to help raise awareness and support the charity’s work.

Dr Carly Jones MBE
ADVOCATE · AUTHOR
I am incredibly proud and deeply honoured to become a Patron of Kaleidoscopic UK.
Since 2008, I have worked as an independent advocate and advisor championing autistic people, particularly the safeguarding of autistic women and girls. I am the author of Safeguarding Autistic Girls: Strategies for Professionals. 9 in 10 autistic women will experience abuse.
This charity’s work means something very personal to me. I know first-hand the kindness, understanding and genuine care at its heart, and it is a privilege to give something back to a charity that gave me a safe, discreet and confidential space to heal when I needed it most.
Kaleidoscopic is genuinely inclusive, upbeat and forward-thinking. They know abuse can happen to anyone, and support survivors and their children without judgment, regardless of who they are or what forms that abuse has taken. There are no time limits or cut-off dates. It is a survivor-led organisation that believes although domestic abuse may change us, it never defines us or our families’ futures.
It is incredible that a domestic abuse charity has chosen an autistic Patron. That sends a powerful message: autistic voices belong at the heart of conversations about safeguarding, coercive control, domestic violence, recovery and support.
For me, this is much more than an honorary role. It is a chance to roll my sleeves up and stand alongside an organisation that once stood alongside me. I look forward to helping Kaleidoscopic UK continue changing patterns, challenging assumptions, and helping survivors and their children from all backgrounds find their feet, their smile and their true colours again.
Luke Brown
DANCE ARTIST · LECTURER · NEWEST PATRON
Luke Brown is a neurodiverse, male identifying gay independent contemporary dance artist, choreographer, movement director, teacher and Artistic Director of Luke Brown Company. He is a Lecturer in Dance at the University of Chichester and Rehearsal Director for mapdance.
I am incredibly honoured to become a Patron of Kaleidoscopic UK. My connection to the organisation is deeply personal. Growing up, I often wished I had an organisation like Kaleidoscopic UK, somewhere that understood children and families living with domestic abuse, where survivors could find support and a sense that they were not alone. I also often wish my mum had known this kind of support existed.
As an artist shaped by my own lived experience of childhood trauma, this work has become a fundamental part of my artistic journey. My current work, The Dandelion Child and Walk of the Dandelion, explores survival, resilience, childhood, identity and the long-lasting impact of trauma.
The dandelion has become a symbol of that resilience, something that can grow in the harshest environments. What makes Kaleidoscopic UK so important to me is that it is survivor-led. It doesn’t simply speak about change; it brings lived experience into the heart of the work. I have spent my life and career using my voice and creative practice to support others, challenge stigma and create space for stories that are too often hidden. Becoming a Patron feels like a coming home. I am proud to stand alongside Kaleidoscopic UK and help amplify the voices of survivors and children who deserve to be heard.
